Welcome to our TGO Challenge 2012 blog ! Listen to our favorite new song from Norah Jones and learn about our Challenge on the Scottish Highland!

What the hell is TGO Challenge? Not a big deal: 290km, 80 hours walking through mountains within 12 days…

You can follow our Scottish Challenge on these pages. Enjoy!

Ready for Scotland: Agnes, Pal, Janos, Orsolya & Miklos – THE HUNGARIAN CHALLENGER TEAM :-)
Click on the picture for the full resolution!

On our last training in the Gerecse “mountain” – everybody is in her/ his best form! Only few days to go… Beware Scotland … we are coming :-)

We, Agnes and Pal were in 2011 the first ever Hungarian participants on TGO Challenge in the past 31 years. As we promised last May we will go back again this year with Pal’s daughter & son – Orsolya & Janos – and with our good friend Miklos. We will hike in two groups (girls & boys) but together.

Someone smarter than I might ask the question… “why the hell would you go from the west coats to east coast, hiking 300 km through the mountains of the Scottish Highland – causing suffering and pain to yourself?

To which I would reply “because I’m training to do something much more stupid than that!”

This is our planned and approved route plan for 2012:

This is an interactive map. Use the upper left side controls or your mouse to scroll the map and to zoom in and out. You can reach max. 1:25000 scale, find places or get GPS coordinates too.

Some interesting facts about the Challenge and our world famous team :-) Only Netherlands and USA give more overseas Challengers, we overtake Germany, France, Italy :-) And we have the youngest participants too …

Agnes is ready to leave:

“When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision… “There is only one way to learn,” the alchemist answered. “It’s through action. Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey.” The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho
